An international agricultural manufacturing company is seeking a production laboratory manager to assist with all operational and manufacturing activities.
Requirements:
- Must have a tertiary qualification in either horticulture or plant pathology or biochemistry or microbiology.
- Must have experience in a sterile manufacturing environment
- Must have experience in managing staff.
- The successful candidate must have good communication skills.
- The candidate should have authority and good leadership qualities.
- Must be meticulous and quality-focused, analytical with good problem-solving abilities.
- Must be willing to travel internationally from time to time.
Responsibilities:
- Report manufacturing activities into international offices.
- Manage coach, train and motivate team-leaders and laboratory staff.
- Manage and oversee quality management, production planning and management of reports etc.
- Develop initiatives in order to improve quality.
- Implement, manage and oversee procedures.
- Managing production laboratory activities and personnel in the production laboratory by evaluating laboratory personnel to determine training needs.
- Train personnel in accordance with the latest ista rules
- Participate in proficiency testing, obtaining a-rating.
- Maintaining records on quality and certification.
- Monitoring laboratory production stock.
- Updating stock status in line with tests.
- Managing and driving monthly personnel meetings ensuring that laboratory equipment is accurate and maintained.
- Supplying prouction laboratory statistics as and when needed.
- Manage the laboratory budget.
