JOB PROFILE – COST MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

REPORTING TO

Financial Manager

OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide support to the Executive and Operations staff, through cost management accounting. Preparation of financial data /analyses for use throughout the company (Management, Marketing, Operations, etc.) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include assisting Operations team with cost management accounting – financial input, identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Management
Maintain and implement a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Devise and implement internal controls and systems to ensure all departments and Finance are integrated
Be an integral part of the Executive management team, and contribute in strategic direction of the company.

Budgeting
Manage the preparation of the company’s budget with all departments.
Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction, including medium term plans (3y budget)
Plan and maintain project budgeting

Financial Administration
Year end audit – preparation and completion including statutory accounts and AFS
Monthly financial reporting to the management team, and board members when required.
Costing to be done within the operational centres
Maintain the General Ledger and capture all financial transactions timeouly into Pastel.
Ensure all payments to creditors are performed daily through the online banking application.
Manage finances at the operational centres
Prepare yearly budgets of the operational centres
Draft management account
Balance sheet, Accounts payable and receivable monthly recons to perform.
Prepare board financials and reporting
Responsible for management of Afrika Tikkun Services accounts

General
Comply with all directives from time to time given to you by the company, and all rules and regulations
Any other adhoc functions to be requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCOM Honors (Accounting) or Equivalent
  • CIMA Qualification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Must have own car
