Purpose Statement

  • To facilitate the integration of digital payment solutions in delivery of an Omni-channel experience for Capitec clients
  • Provide specialist input on business and technological aspects during business requirements gathering and technical design, development and implementation phases
  • Analyse implemented solutions and recommend further improvements, which will improve service, quality and value

Experience

Min:

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in:
  • Chip card payment processing (e.g. authorisation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, dispute resolution, extracts and general ledger integration) architecture and design
  • Switching Systems (e.g. Postilion and Base 24)
  • Payment systems (e.g. Visanet and Banknet), including POS (e.g. Easy Pay) and ATM (e.g. Saswitch)
  • Applying core security (Symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic) principles

Ideal:

  • Agile product development lifecycle
  • Mobile QR and NFC payments (including tokenisation)
  • Postilion Real-Time framework, PostCard and Postilion Office
  • Mastercard SecureCode implementation

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • A relevant degree in Information Technology – Computer Science or Information Systems Auditing (CISA)

Knowledge

Min:
Knowledge of the following areas are required to perform the job:

  • Debit and credit card payment processing (e.g. authorisation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, card dispute resolution and chargebacks, extracts and general ledger integration) fundamentals
  • Binary and hexadecimal number systems
  • Security principles; solid foundation in symmetric and asymmetric cryptography
  • Card transaction based switching and routing
  • IT System Architectural design principles & application
  • System analysis and design

Ideal:
Understanding of:

  • Agile product development lifecycle (Capitec way of work)
  • Capitec’s card payment processing systems
  • Mobile Payments: Wallet payment capabilities for face to face, In-App, On-line payments; including Masterpass and Tokenisation
  • An overall understanding of the mobile phone development process and platforms, specifically Android and iOS
  • Mastercard contact and contactless M/Chip specifications
  • EMV specifications
  • EMV payment tokenisation technical framework
  • Mastercard cloud-based payments
  • Mastercard’s Digital Enablement System (MDES) and Digital Secure Remote Payments (DSRP)
  • EMV 3-D Secure 2.0
  • Retail Banking: Online banking through connected devices (Smart phone; Tablet; Desktop) as well as mobile (USSD) capabilities
  • Samsung Pay, Android Pay and Apple Pay
