A well-established Internation chemical company supplying commodity and speciality chemicals to local and international markets requires the above to maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts and chemical distribution customers; identify and develop potential business opportunities within targeted areas; and provide feedback on sales, customer interaction and competitor knowledge to increase the company’s competitive advantage.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Previous Key Account Management experience calling on the Construction chemical manufacturing industry selling Chemical raw materialsial or related products is essential.
  • Tertiary qualification in either a Sciences or related qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • The successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with Business Managers and Representatives from various departments to assist with the development and servicing of customers for the Construction and Coatings markets.
  • Overseeing the product management of agency-specific products and additives.
  • Attending and participating in regular feedback sessions regarding projects, customer interactions, Sales and technical briefs.
  • Establishing and implementing projects for customer development as well as projects to introduce new agency distribution products to the markets.
  • Communicating prices and product offerings with customers and relaying this market information to management and Suppliers in order to increase the company’s competitive advantage.
  • Establishing and developing growth opportunities with new international Suppliers.
  • Providing technical support to customers.
  • Liaising with Suppliers, Distributors and customers to resolve quality issues of orders.
  • Managing a stock portfolio within the Construction and coatings business unit.
  • Attending various conferences and trade shows to identify and develop new business opportunities within the Polymer industries.
  • Setting budget targets as well as Sales objectives for new business.
  • Providing estimates on new opportunities based on current sales prices and expected volumes for future sales.
  • Capturing and maintaining market related data, customer information and customer visit reports.
