You know and have grown accustomed to working on complex and high-profile multidisciplinary projects. The renewable energy sector is no stranger to you, and you’ve gained your technical, commercial, IT, construction, commissioning experience from there. It will be nice to know that you have seen it all and can navigate all that goes with this mountain fairly easily.
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
In this position you will be responsible for the successful coordination of different contracts to ensure the project’s success in terms of safety, budget, planning and quality with a focus on battery energy storage, the energy management system as well as hybrid power plant controllers. You will coordinate and supervise all technical activities that will include the mechanical, electrical, I&C and civil engineering disciplines. Where technical stakeholders are involved, you will be responsible for building adequate coordination, processes, reporting and methods. Accountable for the decisions related to contractors and subcontractors.

You will be joining an international renewable energy organisation that take pride in their contribution to a greener future. They develop, finance, build, own and operate renewable energy facilities across South Africa.
What you’ll need
This is a high-profile and technically challenging project that requires a project manager with extensive energy sector experience coordinating and managing interfaces between multidisciplinary construction contracts, at the same time. To put years to it, 10 years in engineering, construction and commissioning should do it. Experience with complex multidisciplinary power generation projects that include battery energy storage and other renewable energy technologies such as Solar PV, Wind energy or CSP. Contract negotiation and contract management experience will be sought after. If you have O&M experience then even better, that would be an advantage. On your cv we will be looking for strong technical expertise in I&C, SCADA / DCS, EMS and telecommunication. Please make sure that you list or describe your matching experience needed to be identified correctly.
