Application Developer

Position: Application Developer
Location: Midrand
Salary: R313 866.00 per annum.

Purpose of the job:

Responsible for the maintenance and support of enterprise applications to ensure high availability.
Perform effective and efficient analysis, design and development ofenhancements to the core banking and lending systems.

Key Performance Areas:

Plan and implement Preventative maintenance
Problem solving / trouble shooting on the application as well daily support
Assist with Installation and upgrading of the software on the servers
Assist with testing of new application releases or fixes
Skills transfer to other application support specialists
Involved with Application configuration management
Proactive monitoring of the application to ensure exceptions is detected as early as possible
Assist with detail impact analysis of changes on the system
Assist with providing system architecture with detail on system and applications
Provide input when required for reporting at IT Change Management Committee
Maintaining a call handling process, and liaising with customers to establish details of their problems orrequirements, investigation and resolution
Interaction with various departments within Ubank and the application vendor.

Qualifications and Experience:

3-year Degree in BSc/B. Com or equivalent Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology isessential
5-8 Years’ experience in a Development environment is essential
Technical aptitude of banking systems and applications use. IT Banking support
5-8 Years’ experience in designing and creating system specification documents is essential
5-8 Year’s Oracle and SQL experience is essential
Enterprise System Integration
5-8 Year’s IT Banking support experience.
Java development including Spring Framework and Hibernate.
5-8 Year’s work experience on Flexcube is essential
5-8 Year’s work experience on any Lending system is essential.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

JEE technologies.
IDE (Eclipse)
Flexcube.
Java language.
SOA technologies and principles.
Enterprise integration products (e.g. IBM Websphere Message Brokers Oracle Weblogic.
Java technologies such as Spring OSGi CXF Hibernate.
Financial and payments systems such as Misys payment manager.
Integration into Oracle Flexcube.
Knowledge of Attlassian and Nexus development tools.
Good analytical skills.
