The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Effectively and efficiently managing and monitoring all installed ICT systems and infrastructure
  • Server patching, maintenance, troubleshooting and replacement
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, backup systems and system management tools
  • Effectively and efficiently providing desktop and telephone support
  • Overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the ICT department in respect of routine daily support, maintenance & related administrative duties

Prospective applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent in the relevant IT field. Certification in the following field will be advantageous – Cisco, Microsoft or CompTIA
  • Relevant BCom degree
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar field (more in the technical requirements below), with management experience
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to produce accurate, high quality work in line with specific standards
  • Systematic, comprehensive and displaying excellent attention to detail
  • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
  • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary

Advantageous Technical Requirements:

  • 5 years proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Server environment (Server 2012 R2) with a focus on Hyper-V hardware visualization as well as its roles and features i.e., Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
  • 3 years proven working experience in Office 365 administration, particular in a Hybrid environment
  • 5 years proven working experience in a variety of enterprise backup systems with a focus on Veeam, Azure Offsite Backups and Symantec backup tools
  • Experience and knowledge on Microsoft Azure platform such as Azure Active Directory and Azure AD connect
  • Experience in virtualization platforms such as VMware and Promox
  • Experience in monitoring, configuring, and maintaining existing networks (including existing wireless network) and making upgrades where required as well as troubleshooting network outages or issues
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise antivirus applications, ESET
  • Experience with vPBX systems
  • Ensures the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors, IT providers, etc. for support where required
  • Project management skills
  • Experience in a call centre environment
