ROLE PURPOSE & KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Project Manager to work with the IT Business Partner Head & Business Product Owners to define the product & technical delivery and co-ordination.
  • This is a key and critical role that is required to manage the Bank Point of Sale workstreams.
  • Global Platform workstream
  • API workstream and,
  • Projects that fall within the Business Banking area.
  • These workstreams and projects are complex and spans across multiple functional areas within the bank as well as 3rd party providers.
  • The role will interface with senior managers and executives and requires a good communication skill and a calm demeanour under pressure.
  • Must be able to see the bigger picture and manage multiple deliveries and interactions at the same time is key for this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • 8 – 10 years IT Project Management
  • Degree / Diploma in Program Management or related
  • Certificate in PMP, CAPM, Agile or equivalent
  • Project management or related degree required
  • CAPM; PMP: Scrum Master certification
  • Automation skills with API & SQL Scripting
  • Matric

  • Lead the detailed scoping, prioritisation & integration planning for the design & deployment of products & services with & across multiple stakeholder groups (Front End, Back End & Integration) – (aligned to solution blueprints)
  • Meaningfully contribute & ensure solutions align to the design and direction of the Group Infrastructure standards and practices e.g., OLA’s, IAAS, PAAS, SAAS, Containerisation etc.
  • Strategically & operationally monitor the performance of products and services (all applications) – ensuring ongoing optimization & cost to value for our businesses (think bank wide)
  • Azure DevOps – must be able to use to create user stories

Deliverables

  • This role requires the candidate to have strong project management and agile methodology
  • Manage all phases of projects, including initiation, planning, execution, implementation, and post-implementation
  • Develop detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates, and resource plans in collaboration with all project stakeholders.
  • Document and keep track of all projects, administration of own projects is
  • Extensive knowledge of project management processes and systems development
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and automated project planning tools
  • Manage project scope and risks. Investigate and make recommendations on issues that challenge scope
  • Monitor and report on project progress highlighting critical issues for management, and, as necessary, coordinate the development, discussion, and approval of corrective action and/or contingency plans.
  • Manage stakeholder relations to ensure that project delivery expectations are specified and met.
  • Plan and implement change management processes, including activities such as training, communication, and documentation.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet/exceed the project sponsor’s specified expectations.
  • Ensure project activities and deliverables adhere to internal quality standards.
  • Provide clear direction and motivation to project

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly agile rituals efficiently and strictly (Grooming sessions, demos )
  • Track work progress to identify blockages and developer divergence from allocated tasks
  • Manages Business, Operational Staff and Product owners from interference with Development Structure
  • Police channels for submission of development work requests
  • Manages stories that do not contain the right level of detail from entering the Dev Structure
  • Blocks changes to work once in development without following the proper re- evaluation process
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Guide and coach, the team to follow Agile practices

  • Expert in time estimations and planning
  • Create visibility of the progress on the work streams in terms of monthly reporting to stakeholders and executives
  • Represent the work in progress at Project Steering
  • Coach, mentor, train and otherwise support other team members in the fulfilment of their project support functions.
  • Able to work efficiently with minimal direction
  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures provided
  • Ensure Azure and Teams is updated accordingly for audit purposes
