MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Systems Administrator to be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of operating system software and hardware. All in house applications and infrastructure Will work with a diverse team.

SCOPE OF JOB
Basic Job Functions:

FINANCE

  • Adhere to budget
  • Forecast recommendations for infrastructure and product lifecyle management
  • Find efficancies in cost saving technologies

OPERATIONS

  • Configuring and maintain internal systems
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Update technical documentation
  • Manage antivirus / backups and other critical systems

CUSTOMER

  • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast end effective
  • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
  • Ensure all application and hardware changes conform to governance and audit requirements by making use of approvals and documentation to ensure system integrity and stability
  • Participate in internal and external audits, logging and tracking audit findings
  • Manage own development to increase own competencies.
  • Participate and collaborate across teams
  • Ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the relevant applications are maintained and provides technical support for relevant projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years system administrator experience in a predominantly Microsoft environment.

  • BSc in Computer Science or other relevant qualification

  • IIS configuration and management.

  • Website or application or service deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft desktop OS (Windows 7+, installation, management, troubleshooting).
  • Domain and registrar management (.co.za and other TLD)
  • Good understanding of domains, DNS, DNS records and their functions.
  • Understanding of monitoring servers and services.
  • Windows SUS (Software Update Services).
  • Solid TCP or IP fundamentals
  • IP routing, subnetting.
  • Application layer protocols DNS, SMTP, FTP, POP3, IMAP, RDP, etc including function and troubleshooting.
  • Physical server and equipment deployment.
  • Virtualisation (V Center).
  • Enterprise Storage.
  • Batch scripting.
  • Powershell scripting.
  • Active Directory.
  • Windows Clustering.
  • Load balancing.
  • Office 365
  • HP Blade Enclosures / NAS / +Management thereof
  • SQL environments
  • SCCM & Intune administration skills
  • SharePoint
