In the 2021 Context ChannelWatch survey, resellers named Axiz, Tarsus and First Distribution as the top distributors across a range of categories. With Axiz scooping the Overall Distributor of the Year.
Context ChannelWatch is a global online IT-reseller survey, giving key insight into the purchasing intentions and decisions as well as business issues and industry trends the channel community face. As part of the survey, resellers in each country nominate distributors they work with for the Context ChannelWatch Distributor of the Year Award.
Market dynamics in IT distribution landscape have been heavily influenced by the pandemic and this continues to have a huge impact on channel sales for the rest of the year and beyond. According to Context market intelligence, a number of factors are set to influence the technology market as we head into 2022, including environmental concerns of consumer and B2B IT buyers, and the EU’s huge €1,8-trillion recovery fund, much of which will be spent on digital.
While European IT distributors have continued to perform well in 2021, supply shortages have been a cause for some concern and have slowed growth. But performance in the channel has still been strong, marking the huge progression in IT with government spending and the continued success of traditional IT categories along with innovative ways of delivering services notably through cloud and hybrid solutions.
Similarly, in South Africa, ICT distributors have experienced product shortages and price fluctuations during Covid-19 lockdowns although several distributors have produced excellent growth and distribution of products.
Against a backdrop of ever-changing market dynamics, resellers were asked to rate their distributors on a wide range of key service areas. They named the following winners across the following categories:
