If there is one lesson the world will take out of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s that work isn’t just the place you go to anymore. Indeed, work from home and remote working have highlighted how important it is to employ devices that move easily between work and home.

The HP ProBook x360 435 G8 is a case in point: the convertible laptop is a popular gaming and entertainment machine as well as a top-end work PC, offering great performance and leading security features with stylish design.

As with all HP ProBooks, this workhorse combines performance with a slim and light design, plus a long battery life and built-in security.

The HP ProBook x360 435 G8 is a convertible with four distinct modes for use:  laptop, tablet, stand and tent.

Performance comes standard with the latest AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 series processors and AMD Radeon integrated graphics.

AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors

AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors enable a responsive computing experience and powerful performance to speed productivity.

AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile Processors feature the most advanced cores in the world for users who need the best performance.

The HP ProBook x360 435 offers a choice of the following:

  • AMD Ryzen 3 5400U, with four cores and up to 4.0GHz max boost clock, allowing the user to browse, stream, edit, build, and create;
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600U with Radeon graphics, with six cores and up to 4,2GHz max boost clock, so users can enjoy powerful performance and instant responsiveness for both productivity and entertainment functions; and
  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800U with Radeon graphics, with eight cores and up to 4,4GHz max boost clock, which is perfect for demanding productivity and gaming applications, delivering excellent energy efficiency and a battery life of up to 17,5 hours of general use and up to 21 hours of video playback on a single charge.

BrightView FHD touchscreen

The HP ProBook x360 435 features a 13,3-inch diagonal BrightView full high definition (FHD) in-plane switching (IPS) touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass and HD webcam.

The optional HP Sure View Gen3 integrated privacy screen blocks unsolicited snooping by reducing visual light when the screen is viewed from the side. At the touch of a button, the screen appears dark and unreadable to those around the user.

There is also an optional built-in HP Privacy Camera, offering an integrated physical shutter that will cut off access to the camera with an easy click, ensuring privacy.

The HP ProBook x360 435 also offers an optional, world-facing 5MP dual-camera system with a second camera on the keyboard deck.

Built-in security

The HP ProBook x360 435 features multi-layered protection that includes a host of commercial-grade security and privacy features such as HP Sure Start, HP Sure Sense, HP Secure Erase, and HP Sure Click.

The processors running this system are built on the AMD Zen processor architecture, that helps to guard against cyber-attacks while protecting data confidentiality and integrity.

The HP ProBook x360 435 comes with HP Sure Start Gen5 (and Gen6 on some models), which is a self-healing BIOS that automatically recovers from attacks or corruption.

The devices are also protected against never-before-seen attacks with HP Sure Sense, which uses proprietary deep learning algorithms and advanced AI to recognize and provide protection against advanced malware.

An integrated chain of trust is built around the AMD Secure Processor. When used as the foundation for OS or manufacturer user identity and access protections, the complete, layered approach invisibly helps protect the computer from startup to shut down, all with outstanding PC performance.

Full system memory encryption with AMD Memory Guard is included as a standard feature with AMD Ryzen PRO, AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO, and AMD Athlon PRO processors.

Windows 10 Virtualization Based Technology (VBS) uses AMD-V with GMET to isolate a secure memory region from the normal operating system and prevents malicious applications and drivers from running or getting access to system memory. Similarly, the Microsoft Memory Access Protection feature provides security against DMA attacks, and is enabled by AMD-Vi with DMA remapping technology.
