ENVIRONMENT:ENSURE all security related services are functional to all sites while conducting regular internal compliance checks of a dynamic Consultancy in Cape Town seeking your niche technical expertise as their next Junior Mid Level Information Security Specialist. You will require a tertiary qualification (MCSE or other certification in IT Systems Fortinet NSE or other certification in Network and perimeter security) or equivalent with relevant working experience with at least 2 years experience in a similar role preferably in a global company, understand security implementation and management best practices, Network Analysis and certified ethical hacking tools, well-developed problem solving and troubleshooting skills & be willing to work occasionally out of business hours due to project or incident related issues. Any proficiency in German will be hugely [URL Removed] the Information Security Manager in Group wide IT Projects required to achieve and maintain PCI DSS compliance.

  • Assist the Information Security Manager in maintaining and enforcing the LIT IT & Security
  • Strategy across all locations.
  • Maintain information security standards and procedures in compliance with agreed LIT information security and risk management policies, standards and guidelines
  • Responsible for the maintenance and support of security controls and user profiles as required by the functional teams.
  • Help the business in participating in the security processes (application assessments, product certification, connectivity to the intranet and internet).
  • Report on defined IT / Business privacy and security metrics.
  • Participate in business continuity planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, providing security, availability, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure that contingency and / or continuity information technology services remain compliant with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and log all firewall changes.
  • Perform vulnerability scans, highlight scan results, generate report on the scan and recommends remedial action where deviations are identified.
  • Monitor and coordinate audit trail (log) management and review.
  • Monitor and coordinate Patch and Anti-Virus updates.
  • Monitor local FWs and IPS Systems.
  • Provide support to the Information Security Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with IT standards and processes at all times.
  • Other duties consistent with the position.

    • REQUIREMENTS:

    • Tertiary qualification (MCSE or other certification in IT Systems Fortinet NSE or other certification in Network and perimeter security) or equivalent with relevant working experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role preferable in a global company.
    • Understanding in security implementation and management best practices.
    • Well-developed knowledge Network Analysis and certified ethical hacking tools.
    • Well-developed problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Willing to work occasionally out of business hours due to project or incident related issues.
    • Strong proficiency in English language (written and verbal).

    Advantageous

    • Proven experience in enterprise-controlled AV systems; knowledge Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP).
    • Proven experience in Vulnerability Scanning products; knowledge in Rapid7 Nexpose / InsightVM.
    • Preferable Management in Information Technology or Information Technology Auditing.
    • Proven experience in IT logging and analytical tools such as SIEM and SOAR.
    • Understanding of the ITIL Service Delivery Model.
    • Internal or external IT Auditing experience.
    • Linux experience.
    • CCNA, CCNP or other certification in Networking Area.
    • Security+, CISA, CEH or other certification in Security Area.
    • Knowledge of Information Security, PCI DSS and ISO27K.
    • Proficiency in German language would be an advantage (written and verbal).
