My client based in Cape Town (Woodstock) is currently looking for a Business Analyst to join them on an independent contract basis

Responsibilities
- Required to work on medium / high impact solutions that may or may not span multiple business areas
- Required to work under general direction within a clearly defined accountability framework
- Gather, elicit, interpret requirements, and clearly document business and systems requirements
- Participate in the solution design process
- Prepare the requirements specifications
- Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level
- Focusing on quality improvement and data management
- Ensuring data is reliable and valid
- Developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination
- Integrating new systems and processes with existing ones
- Partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
- Project scoping, feasibility studies and risk assessments
- Identifying business needs
- Determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices
- Monitoring progress and results
- Recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities
- Adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
- Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction
- Analyse and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement, and implementations
- Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates
- Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines
- Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements
- Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up to date on project results
Experience
- Relevant tertiary IT qualification or qualification through experience
- Diploma in Business Analysis from industry recognised Training Institution
- 7 to 9 Years experience as a business analyst
- 4 to 5 Years working in a project management environment
- 4 to 5 Years systems analyst experience or substantial business experience
- Have a well-rounded technical understanding of:
- Medical aid switching
- SEP regulated pricing
- Healthcare software (Unisolv, Marconi, Apollo, Allegra)
- POS software (Storeline)
- Facilitation skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Technical writing skills
- Skilled in the use of business analysis tools and techniques, including the preparation of business cases, facilitation and interviewing, context diagramming, business process analysis, event-driven process modelling, data modelling, location analysis and organization analysis
- Must have experience working on medium to large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
- Understanding of Indices, fundamentals and analytical data, returns level data etc.
