Junior Cyber Security Engineer – Taking the cloud phenomenon to another level!
We are looking for a confident engineer that will help the business by protecting computer and networking systems from potential hackers and cyber attacks by safe guarding sensitive data from hackers and cyber criminals infiltrating sensitive databases.

The Position: We’re looking for an ambitious Junior Cyber Security Engineer to be based permanently in Centurion. The pay range on offer is R15 000.00 to R20 000.00 Package Per Month.

Requirements:
- Complete Matric
- Fluent in Afrikaans – a must have
- Completed IT Diploma or similar IT qualifications – highly beneficial
- Any PEN Certification – highly advantageous
- Any self-passed certification through Hack the Box or Try Hack Me or any of those well know institutions would also be very beneficial
- Completed at least A+ / N+ and Security+
- Keen interest in Cyber Security and willingness to learn and grow in the industry
- Own reliable transport with a valid drivers license
- South African with a valid South African ID
- 2+ years related technical experience with an aspiration to learn and grow within the cyber security space
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans / English)
- Technically minded with strong problem-solving abilities
- Committed and Stable person
- Neat and tidy, well spoken and not shy to be honest
- Analytical mind
- Detailed understanding of cyber security methodologies
- To ensure success, the engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits
- Comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network
Responsibilities:
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks
- Troubleshooting security and network problems
- Responding to all system and/or network security breaches
- Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls
- Participating in the change management process
- Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities
- Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization
