We are looking for a Commercial Analyst who will be able to assist the team in automating and improving the data management process, work with domain experts, and data engineers, and research and analyse the company data to support statistical analysis by the business. The successful candidate will be trusted with the implementation and maintenance of the systems used to collect and analyse business intelligence data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translate business needs to technical specifications;
- Identify areas of improvement in the reporting process, evaluating the existing BI system;
- Clean the data and transfer data into a reusable data model;
- Conducting analyses, creating dashboards and interactive visual reports using Redash and Postgres SQL;
- Design, develop and test BI solutions such as databases, data warehouses, queries and views, reports, and perform data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software;
- Document all reports, data sources and purpose of reports;
- Education of report end-users so as to ensure a maximum spread of expertise around the company;
- Participates in workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions;
- Ensure all BI related incidents or service requests are resolved effectively;
- Enhances the performance of business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and indexes;
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems along with maintain and support data analytics platforms and
- Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
- At least 3 years work experience in a business intelligence role will be considered.;
- 3+ years strong SQL experience ;
- Experience setting up and operating or monitoring data load processes;
- Experience in building data and ETL pipelines;
- Advanced experience with Postgres SQL;
- Good experience with testing;
- Data modelling experience;
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining;
- Understanding of APIs and Web Services;
- Good conceptual thinking and critical analytical skills;
- Firm understanding of statistics and data services;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Expert problem-solving and analytical skills and
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Requirement:
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Informatics or similar;
- Excellent SQL skills essential;
- Primary Reporting RDBMS Postgres;
- Knowledge of MongoDB Query;
- Agile working experience advantageous;
- Familiarity with multiple BI technologies;
- Data warehouse engineering design experience;
- Data aggregates and pipelines to your advantage and
- Strong technical knowledge on current data management trends.
