The project technical lead will be the key technical resource within the projects department to assist with implementing projects. The technical lead will be responsible for taking the solutions the client has accepted and delivering those in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The position will require good interpersonal skills and time management. The candidate will be the technical interface between the client and company. The role will require good problem-solving skills to find solutions for any challenges that may present themselves during the project.

The role will require working with other members of the team, the key roles that the project technical lead will interface with will be the sales department and solutions architect, the project managers and junior project technicians as well as the technical support staff who will support the solutions post implementation.

The role will require a firm personality to ensure that all parties meet their commitments and deadlines and that the project doesn’t experience scope creep due to the client adding extra work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating project documentation. This includes defining scope of work documents, checklists and process and procedures.
  • Creating project handover documentation to ensure a smooth handover from projects to support position implementation.
  • Ensuring projects run on time and within budget.
  • Ensuring projects do not stall by driving urgency and holding team members and customers accountable to their deadlines and commitments.

Requirements- Grade 12 and Diploma or Degree- 5 to 10 years IT experience of which 3 to 5 must have been implementing projects in some form and at least 2 of those project years must be at a senior technical level.
