Junior Developer
Minimum Requirements:
- 0-3 years of experience
- Comp Sci or Engineering university degree
- GPA > 70% from UCT / Stel / Wits / UP
- GPA > 80% from other universities
- Interest (demonstrated or expressed) in working across commercial, operational, and technical areas. I.e. not pure dev.
Responsibilities:
- Academic powerhouse: a proxy for high-performing, driven individual– if excellence can be demonstrated in their short career, that is of course a plus
- Generalist (especially Junior roles): though they have technical skills, they want to solve problems across operations, commercial, and technical business areas– their problem-solving nature generally means they are keen to get their hands dirty and do whatever it takes to achieve their goals/objectives
- Ownership: individuals who are willing to take on huge responsibility and can thrive in a fast-moving and high-pressure environment– this can only be achieved when an ownership mentality is adopted and the individual looks to themselves, rather than others, to make it happen
