The purpose of this position is to manage and maintain POS (Point of Sale) systems. To further implement, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot POS and other technical systems associated with this omnichannel approach. This position will further collate data through various platforms and provide analytics to the Team.

POS (POINT OF SALE): Drive POS systems functionality and support in achieving the Group’s overall strategic objectives. Understand and adhere to Famous Brands POS methodology, and framework

  • POS Portfolio: Ensure that the POS portfolio across all brands are managed to ensure uniformity across all POS systems. Work with all stakeholders to meet the POS strategic intent.
  • Technical: Drive the resolution of technical issues experienced with all POS systems, along with new software releases. Provide technology support when integration with POS systems is required. Understand the relevant applications within the tech environment that are integrated with the POS systems. Analyse technical risks and advise on risk mitigation strategies. Remain abreast of key trends and developments relevant to POS environments.
  • POS Vendors: Manage the Service Level Agreements with all POS service providers.

MENU MATRIX: Utilise the Menu Matrix to support allocated Brands strategic objectives

  • Menu Matrix Tool: Create and maintain menu matrixes across all Brands. Ensure that controls are in place for all menus and recipe maintenance to mitigate risks of incorrect data
  • Costings: Perform all costing analysis for Brands. Understand variable costing related to discounts. Input cost and menu pricing analysis and reporting
  • Gross Profit Margins: Analyse and report Gross Profit for all Brands. Drive the accuracy of Channel Margin reporting.
  • Menu Pricing: Responsible for leading price change and overseeing annual menu pricing process. Produce successful menu launches bi-annually, inclusive of accurate input costs and RSP.

POSI UPLOADER: Manage the process of receiving daily transaction files from all restaurants

  • Collection and Integration: Drive efficient transmission of information from stores. Responsible for all POS vendor Integration of software, rules and daily file co-ordination with Synchrony. Continuously engage with POS vendors to ensure scripts align to the FB process.
  • Business Errors: Responsible to fix all Business errors in error logs. Implement control to mitigate business risk and eliminating the number of error files. Ensure that the ETL process works.

REPORTING AND ANALYSIS: Explore and organise data into meaningful business insights

  • Reporting: Prepare analytical reports that specify the key performance indicators as well as diagnostic measures to analyse and recommend course of action for a brand to improve performance and maximize growth. Continually review and refine the quality of reports to ensure they support and inform appropriate decisions by senior management
  • Processing: Responsible for data extraction (compiling raw data), transformation (make it intelligible), and loading (load into warehouse) process. Extract data from various sources and convert it into meaningful information that will enhance business decisions.
  • Data Capture: Capture data and continually review and refine the quality of reports to ensure they support and inform appropriate decisions by senior management. Manage data integrity with the objective of presenting accurate information. Implement quality control of databases to ensure appropriate use of data.
  • Analysis: Analyse and interpret business information needs based on a strong understanding of business processes, drivers and priorities. Explore data in meaningful ways in order to organise, interpret, structure and present the data into meaningful information. Evaluate evolving analytics platforms.

Formal Education

  • Matric essential
  • Hospitality Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in POS functionality
  • Extensive knowledge of POS testing strategies
  • Experience maintaining POS systems
  • Experience and knowledge of food cost calculations
  • Experience in a multi-channel or Omnichannel environment
