They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Technician to join their team in Polokwane.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Desktop Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with VoIP systems (installation and troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with virtual desktop environments (e.g., VMware, Citrix).
  • Knowledge of home automation systems is a plus.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) will be advantageous.
  • Fluent in both Afrikaans and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote desktop support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues across various platforms (Windows, MacOS, etc.).
  • Network Management: Assist in configuring and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and internet services.
  • VoIP Telephony: Install, configure, and troubleshoot VoIP telephony systems, ensuring clear communication lines and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Virtual Desktops: Set up and manage virtual desktop environments, ensuring secure and efficient access for users.
  • Home Automation: Support installation and troubleshooting of smart home technologies (lighting, security systems, etc.).
  • Client Relations: Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent technical support and timely service.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of service requests, repairs, and installations for future reference and reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior technicians, provide guidance on technical issues, and ensure the team follows best practices.
