Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or technical support.
  • Familiarity with desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to assist users of varying technical expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in desktop support tools and ticketing systems preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support IT operations.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on desktop and laptop hardware; manage IT equipment inventory.
  • User Training: Educate users on proper system and software use; create user documentation and FAQs.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT security policies; assist in implementing security measures.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of support requests and generate reports on support activities.

Contract Details

  • Primarily based in Tshwane, with flexibility to engage with various departments.
