ENVIRONMENT:
A dynamic startup in Bespoke Software Development, seeks the technical expertise of a DevOps Engineer with a passion for automation & continuous improvement, who will play a crucial role in establishing its infrastructure. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the environments, integrating them with a CI/CD pipeline using GitLab, and migrating current code to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate must have strong proficiency in AIX operating system administration, including package management, user management, and network configuration, have expertise in DB2, SQL, GitLab CI/CD, be familiar with Linux & TeamCity and have experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python or PowerShell.
DUTIES:
- Design, build, and maintain our AIX environments, including DB2 and SQL databases.
- Integrate the environments with a GitLab CI/CD pipeline, automating deployment and testing processes.
- Migrate the existing codebase to Microsoft Azure, ensuring a seamless transition.
- Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps technologies and best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong proficiency in AIX operating system administration, including package management, user management, and network configuration.
- Expertise in DB2 and SQL database administration, installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- In-depth knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, runners, and configuration.
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with TeamCity.
Preferred to haves –
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
