ENVIRONMENT:
A dynamic Joburg-based Software Solutions Specialist seeks the coding expertise of a Senior Developer to fill a 12-Month Contract role. You will join a team responsible for collecting, interpreting and displaying the data in a way that will provide insights into teams, business units and value streams. You will help build and support a Power BI dashboard, which draws data from multiple sources, SharePoint, Excel files, Postgres and API’s. The company is currently moving its data into a data lake, and plan to build a metadata layer on that. The dashboard will then be pointed at the metadata layer. They can also use the metadata layer for MI and AI, which will be the second phase of the project. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar with 10 years Software Development experience, of which 4 -5 years must have been spent as a Power BI Developer. You will need 5 years Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, .NET Core & SharePoint.
DUTIES:
Phase one:
- Support and add features to a Power BI dashboard, advise on data models and structures.
- Help with moving data into the data lake.
- Support and help manage more Junior Dev, work with business to understand requirements and design and build a solution.
Phase two:
- Build out the metadata layer, use the metadata layer to provide data for the dashboard.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience/Skills –
- At least 10 years of Software Development experience, of which 4 -5 years must have been spent as a Power BI Developer (Essential).
- Minimum 5 years of experience at an advanced level with Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, .NET Core AND SharePoint (Essential).
Advantageous –
- Experience with Power Virtual Agents, C# and Python.
