ENVIRONMENT:

A critical thinking & solutions-driven Investment Data Reporting Analyst is sought by a dynamic Independent Asset Management Firm to fill a 12-Month Contract. Your role will focus primarily on high-quality quantitative data servicing of prospective clients. Working closely with the RFP, Client Groups and Product Specialists, you will help undertake data analysis, facilitate bespoke data reporting, and oversee the disclosure of holdings. Oversight of the global disclosure policy in the business’ best interest is also required, with attendant control of confidential data by liaising with Legal and ensuring signed NDAs are in place. Applicants will require a suitable Degree or equivalent with 5-7 years Financial Services experience – preferably within Asset Management and must have proven work experience of data analysis of complex data sets. The role requires problem-solving, co-ordination, multi-tasking, contextual analysis, attention to detail and working to varied timeframes. Contextual data literacy is critical.

DUTIES:

  • Co-ordinate and produce bespoke data sets for RFP’s and prospective clients.
  • Analyse and interpret large data sets in Excel while applying excellent attention to detail.
  • Foresee and evaluate the potential consequences of using selected data, and an in-depth understanding of the impact on decision-making.
  • Have oversight of the global disclosure policy in the business’ best interest, identifying risk of disclosing confidential data, and proactively highlighting risks to Legal.
  • Ensure necessary approvals are obtained and liaise with Legal to ensure signed NDAs are in place.
  • Multi-task and prioritise data requests and tasks according to business, team, and client needs.
  • Manage tight deadlines by working efficiently, communicating effectively, and understanding requests in a business context.
  • Prepare detailed analysis and insightful evaluation of each request to provide an appropriate data response.
  • Proactively initiate online meetings with RFP, Client Group and Portfolio Specialists with the ability to identify ambiguities in questions, lead an inquiry to clearly articulate and clarify the requirement, and ensure accurate and appropriate data response.
  • Source required data sets promptly, prioritising requests appropriately and effectively manage turnarounds and deadline expectations.
  • Manage relationships with data vendors: facilitate regular reporting of large data sets to the vendors, problem-solve and manage queries that arise on the data sets, ability to identify data irregularities and direct these to appropriate sources to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Take initiative required to continually leverage off system functionality and improve procedures to ensure efficiency of process and mitigating of risk.
  • Flexibly accommodate change to strategies, client demands, or in response to industry change.
  • Become familiar with and understand complex data sets to identify and interpret anomalies in data.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and aggregate or consolidate data while maintaining quality assurance of data output to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and oversee the resolution of data issues by identifying issues and liaising effectively with appropriate business teams.
  • Utilise excellent communication skills to build close working relationships with Proposal Specialists, Portfolio Specialists, Client Group, Legal, external data vendors amongst others.
  • Require clear understanding of Asset Management terminology to succinctly articulate data questions to Investment Team.
  • Always apply curiosity to broaden knowledge and understand alternative perspectives both on a micro level (data, tasks, team) and a macro level (strategies, business teams, firm).
  • Proactively manage own and other team members deliverables when team members are on leave or out of office.
  • Identify strategies to streamline and improve the data analysis process.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree educated or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-7 years Financial Services experience required; Asset Management industry preferred.
  • Must have proven work experience of data analysis of complex data sets.
  • A firm knowledge of Asset Management terminology.
