Excel Analyst

(remote hours 3pm- 11pm)

We are seeking a highly analytical Excel Analyst to join our team.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent Excel skills, with expertise ranging from above average to expert level. Proficiency in utilizing various Excel tools, such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, is essential. As an Excel Analyst, you will be responsible for consolidating information from 15 different spreadsheets into a single comprehensive spreadsheet, requiring the ability to analyze data and identify patterns. Familiarity with financial acronyms and the ability to decipher variations in data formats received from different vendors is crucial.
The role requires a strong aptitude for numbers and a detail-oriented mindset. You will be expected to identify discrepancies between similar spreadsheets and determine the reasons for variations. While the focus is on spreadsheet analysis, expertise in profit and loss statements is not required. Instead, your primary responsibility will be creating user-friendly and visually appealing custom spreadsheets, including guiding others on using templates and applying formulas.

Excellent writing skills are paramount for this position. You should possess a wide-ranging vocabulary and be able to communicate effectively through various mediums, including email, summarizing key points, and highlighting important information. Maintaining a professional tone in written communication and possessing proper etiquette are essential requirements. Strong writing skills are considered a prerequisite and will not be trained on the job.
Candidate possesses social skills and is comfortable reaching out to new individuals. Being able to independently initiate contact without requiring extensive introductions is advantageous. Effective verbal communication skills are essential, although being well-spoken is not a prerequisite as long as the candidate can communicate adequately over the phone.

As an Excel Analyst, attention to detail is crucial due to the need for comprehensive recaps and precise data management, aligning with our emphasis on organization. You will be expected to think independently and demonstrate initiative, as spoon-feeding instructions is not the norm. While there will be ample hands-on training provided, the job requires a proactive approach and the ability to multitask effectively. At the onset, you will be assigned specific tasks, but as you progress, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously will be required.
