We are seeking a skilled, dynamic, and driven Network Engineer with a focus on networking, firewalling, and VoIP/PBX systems to join our technical team.

While this role emphasizes specialized expertise, you will also be expected to perform some general Tier 1/2 IT duties as needed, but this will be kept to a minimum.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
  • Availability for after-hours and weekend support as required

Location and Travel:

This role is based in our Sandton, Illovo office, providing support to local and international clients. You will require a driver’s license as some on-site work is involved, but we will provide the transport for business use. Limited travel within South Africa will also be require at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support our clients Networks, Firewalls, Wi-Fi, CCTV, PABX, SIP, VoIP, and Routing-related queries.
  • Provide remote and on-site support when required, primarily resolving tickets assigned through the Helpdesk.
  • Coordinate effectively with third-party providers, other technical staff, and clients to troubleshoot systems and plan installations or upgrades.
  • Support other areas of IT infrastructure when necessary.

You must be able to coordinate amongst 3rd party providers, other technical staff and the clients in order to troublshoot systems, as well as plan & assist with new installations and upgrades.

You must have a proven track record that shows a stable career path and strong work ethics.

Requirements (5-10 years IT background) – Troubleshooting, Migrations, Deployment
Technical Experience required:

  • A+ / N+ or equivalent
  • CCNA preferred
  • Solid experience with Firewalling and Router configurations
  • FreePBX, Asterisk, Elastix – Installation, configuration & Advanced management
  • 3CX – Installation, configuration & Advanced management experience
  • Experiencing with porting procedures.
  • A Solid understanding of SIP & VOIP with supporting procols
  • Phone configuration – SNOM, Fanvil, Grandstream etc.
  • Softphone experience – iOS and Android
  • A Solid understanding of other PABX systems like Mitel and Samsung
  • Understanding DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP on an advanced level
  • Working with network analyzers and tools like wireshark and zabbix
  • Extensive experience with Wireless devices and controllers
  • Advanced understanding of VLAN’s and switch configuration
  • Advanced Windows & MAC experience.
  • A Solid understanding of Microsoft server technologies and Active-Directory.
  • A Solid understanding of MS Office and Office 365
  • Any Azure Networking experienicng is an advantage.
