As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our customers’ business continuity and high availability policies. Joining our Managed DBA Service group means becoming part of a team that leads the industry in OpenEdge database management.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as the Primary Database Administrator for multiple customer deployments.
- Provide 7×12 on-call support for database-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical OpenEdge database challenges.
- Generate monthly performance and activity reports for clients.
- Execute backend project tasks, including:
- Database Health Checks.
- Implementation of OpenEdge Database Features such as OE Replication, TDE, and Auditing.
- Platform migrations and upgrades for deployed environments.
- Maintenance tasks like Dump and Load, implementing After Imaging, and more.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 10 years of experience with OpenEdge databases.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Pro2 Replication* in LAN and WAN environments.
- Expertise in UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms, including shell scripting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for helping customers resolve technical issues.
- Familiarity with various problem analysis and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
Bonus Skills (Optional but Preferred):
- Experience as a remote OpenEdge DBA or OpenEdge consultant.
- Knowledge of JDK/JRE frameworks and Tomcat implementations.
- Familiarity with Progress SQL92 and middleware solutions like DataServers for MSSQL or Oracle.
- Hands-on experience with n-tier environments involving both Progress Classic AppServer and PASOE.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and Oracle DB.
