RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Responsible for successful execution and delivery of assigned projects on time, within budget, as per contractual agreements, and adherence to the SHEQ specifications
  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Project Financial and Cost Management

  • Management of the project life cycle
  • Attend Client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
  • Chair Project site meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/ trades
  • Detailed project planning and control including:
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan
  • Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
  • Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary
  • Resolving cross-functional issues at project level
  • Managing project scope and change control and escalating issue where necessary
  • Monitoring project progress and performance
  • Providing status reports to the project sponsor
  • Liaise with and update progress to senior management.
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plan, work hours,
  • Cash Flow management, budgets and expenditure
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
  • Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log
  • Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders in database
  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained
  • Provide all necessary paperwork to Project Officers for invoicing
  • Responsible for all internal and external stakeholder management
  • Adhoc reasonable duties as and when requested by the Manager
  • Responsible for adhering to the requirements of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Project Management.
  • Registered/Eligible to register as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
  • PMP Certification from PMI
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in handling various Complex service and Turnkey Construction projects in the High Voltage and Medium Voltage Industry Sector.
  • MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Projects, Lotus Notes, Syspro or SAP
  • Knowledge of Various conditions of contracts not limited to NEC, GCC and FIDIC
