We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Junior Technician to provide inhouse technical assistance and support to users across a client based organization.

The role involves, but is not limited to, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring optimal functionality of technology systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Technical Support:
— Provide first-level support to users via phone, email, or in-person for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
— Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.

System Administration:
— Assist in setting up and configuring new hardware and software.
— Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
— Manage user accounts, permissions (including keeping documentation updated).

Documentation & Reporting:
— Keep a detailed, dated list of user access granted and immediately report changes to management.

Preventative Maintenance:
— Perform routine system updates, backups, and reviews of patch management.
— Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

Educational Background:
— Currently studying / completed tertiary studies in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technical Skills:
— Strong knowledge of Windows/macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common enterprise applications.
— Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

Soft Skills:
— Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
— Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
— Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
— Grade 12
— Minimum of 1 or 2 Years of professional experience within ISP Industry
— Extremely customer service oriented.
— A+, N+, required (or equivalent work experience).
— Background in telecommunications (Internet Service Provider) a plus!
— Any other IT qualifications will be beneficial but not a requirement.
— Drivers License
— Own vehicle/transport

Fixed term contract, with possibility of permanent employement.

Onsite position close to JHB CBD

Salary negotiable based on experience and skillset demonstrated / tested.
