Operational Technology Underground Support Technician
Purpose of the Role:
Support and maintain the Operational Technology (OT) underground environment, including:
- Server and network environment installation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Monitoring, testing, and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Managing end-user requirements, including troubleshooting, account maintenance, and training.
- Creating and maintaining IT Visio diagrams and related documentation.
- Collaborating on process automation and standard administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT hardware, software, and network problems.
- Perform system installations, updates, and configurations.
- Maintain professionalism and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Support inventory and asset management for OT resources.
- Escalate unresolved queries and follow up to resolution.
- Ensure system availability through proactive monitoring and fault-tolerant configurations.
- Stay updated on new technologies and maintain an orderly workplace.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A+, N+
- MCTIP/MCSE (Compulsory)
- Cisco knowledge (Advantageous)
- Rajant knowledge (Advantageous)
Experience:
- 3-4 years of IT infrastructure support experience, including diagnostic and resolution skills.
Non-Negotiables:
- MCTIP/MCSE certification
- 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work underground daily
Key Skills:
- Strong IT infrastructure and system analysis knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Interpersonal skills, including active listening and teamwork
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and CCTV systems
- Understanding of fiber layouts and applications
