They are seeking a dedicated Server Administrator to help maintain and optimize our server infrastructure.
Purpose of the role:
The Server Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role involves installing, configuring, and updating server hardware and software, monitoring server performance, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software systems.
- Monitor server performance to ensure efficient and secure operation.
- Identify and troubleshoot server-related issues.
- Implement server security measures, including firewalls and data encryption.
- Perform regular data backups to protect organizational information.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system controls.
- Coordinate with other IT professionals to ensure efficient server usage.
- Document server configurations, changes, and upgrade history.
- Travel may be required
Experience and Knowledge
- Proficiency in server operating systems (such as Windows) and server virtualization technologies
- 3-5 years of experience in server administration or a similar role is commonly required
- Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and configurations
- Analytical and observation skills
- Careful attention to configuration changes and performance metrics
- Written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues quickly
- Establish the stability, reliability, and security of Network Services (ADDS, DNS, DHCP, NPS), Windows Servers (Physical and Virtual), and Virtualization environments (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere.
Qualifications:
- Microsoft MCSE/MCSA traditional on-premises infrastructure qualifications, or equivalent industry experience would be beneficial
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization 6.x, 7.x
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ800 – AZ 801)
- Beneficial: Microsoft Azure Administrator – Associate (AZ-104).
