Main Purpose of the Role
Employee will provide daily IT support at the DSV Park Westen Cape facility as well as entire Western Cape Region.
Employee will be required to travel to different locations at times dependant on projects and outages that might need onsite support. Employee will be required to assist with projects as and when assigned to the local ITOS team.
Tertiary Qualification
- A+ is a requirement
- Any IT related qualification will be advantageous
Computer Literacy Level
- Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Additional Computer Skills (e.g. software knowledge – Navision / COGNOS / eMpower / SAP, other)
- CASDM Tools / Cherwell / Delta II/CIC.
- CompTia N+, One or more modules of MCITP or similar.
Job Related Requirements (compulsory skills / competencies and/or minimum years industry experience)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in local IT Support.
- At least 5 years’ experience working with service desk or IT operations in a multinational framework.
- At least 5 years’ experience working with vendors and hardware procurement/delivery processes.
- At least 5 years’ experience supporting multiple aspects of infrastructure to include standard printing, PC, laptop and wireless devices.
- At least 5 years’ experience working with 1 or more infrastructure/operations discipline (e.g., systems administration, network administration, telecommunications).
- At least 2 years’ experience in project coordination.
- English language fluency.
- Moderate knowledge of incident management systems (e.g. Cherwell). Troubleshooting both hardware and software-based issues.
- Basic knowledge of general IT process and audit mechanisms.
- Interpersonal Communication and Language Skills including People and Relationship Management Skills.
- Tactical Planning & project coordination/Management.
- Ability to work within Project Management Framework.
- Analytical Skills (e.g., Storing Information & Managing Data, Learning and Following Procedures).
- Applied Learning / Functional Knowledge and Skills (e.g., Using Computer Skills, Maintains Industry Awareness/Industry Knowledge).

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide IT support on a daily basis to all users
- Provide support on Global Desktop, Thin Clients, Laptops/PC’s
- Provide basic support on Cisco Network equipment
- Assist Global IT with onsite assistance
- Provide support on Printers
- Install Windows DSV Images via SCCM DP on Laptops/PC’s
- Assist on all tickets logged for the Eastern Cape region
- Provide assistance on IT projects within the regions
- Liaison with business partners and vendors to resolve their IT related issues, problems and requests.
- Own, and manage to completion, minor and major changes to local infrastructure
- Manage and resolve incidents remotely to assist the Regional team.
- Understand expectations that were set with business clients and recognize when issues/events may need escalation up the management chain.
