ROLE: An organized and capable Application Support Engineer to become part of the Operations group.
Role:

  • Ensure reliability, performance, and security of messaging platforms in a mission-critical environment
  • Maintain and monitor servers and essential infrastructure
  • Manage incidents of varying severity levels
  • Troubleshoot and optimize business applications in Linux environments
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule including after-hours support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, service, and maintain applications deployed on Linux server environments
  • Diagnose application problems through log analysis and implement appropriate solutions
  • Collaborate with development teams on application deployment and optimization strategies
  • Administer and automate deployment processes and configuration management systems
  • Safeguard application performance, stability, and security within Linux ecosystems
  • Conduct in-depth incident analysis to determine root causes and develop sustainable solutions
  • Address and resolve database challenges involving MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other database platforms
  • Develop and update automation and monitoring scripts using languages such as Bash and Python
  • Create comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting methodologies, system configurations, and support protocols
  • Partner with Development teams to provide support for containerized application environments

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years proven experience in Linux/Open Source server administration.
  • Hands-on experience with RedHat/CentOS/Rocky Linux Operating Systems.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Perl, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with open-source technologies (e.g., Apache, Nagios, Springboot) is beneficial.
  • Experience with log analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, load balancing, TCP/IP) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with database management systems is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a production environment.
