Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Internal / Industry specific certifications
  • Data Analytics (Excel / Power BI / etc.)
  • Engineering in a mining environment
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant operational experience of which 5 years’ management experience must be in a mining environment
  • This role requires a significant amount of local and international travel within the region
  • Required to work underground as required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, quality and financial performance of drilling operations
  • Lead the Account Management Team to execute drilling contracts
  • Develop a project readiness plan & ensure that it’s delivered in accordance with schedule, budget and scope requirements
  • Source and provide operational information for effective and accurate estimation of new project proposals
  • Source contract initiation resources including human resources, inventory, plant & machinery, sub-contractors and capital
  • Conduct distribution planning and scheduling of contract initiation resources
  • Ensure compliance with government regulatory, tax and legislative requirements before and during distribution of resources
  • Ensure compliance with Client contract initiation requirements for effective on-boarding of resources
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions and identify and control contract initiation baseline risks
  • Review and approve monthly budgets and expenditure (for projects and tenders)
  • Monitor project productivity and identify corrective action interventions when required
  • Monitor and integrate cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters
  • Analyse information, challenges and trends to establish and implement fact-based solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company and client policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance to safety and quality standards during project execution
  • Provide technical advice to Project teams & manage the teams
  • Ensure the effective resourcing of contracts (special tools, critical inventory, plant and machinery and skilled staff)
  • Manage relationships with Clients, mines and sub-contractors
  • Create effective relations with Group Shared Services, as well as with Supply Chain, HR, IT, Finance, SHEQ and Commercial teams, and adhere to SLAs
  • Engage with commercial teams and provide input relating to claims and scope changes
  • Identify and action potential new business- and cross selling opportunities with existing clients
  • Select, develop and motivate the Production team
  • Identify training and development needs
  • Manage team performance
