ENVIRONMENT:
AN innovative provider of advanced Financial Security Services in Johannesburg seeks a strong technical 1st Line Support Engineer for IT related incidents, changes, and service requests, LAN services and desktop/laptop support to all users. You will provide hardware installation, support and maintenance as well as software installation and 1st Line Support of MS Office [Phone Number Removed];, Office for MAC, Visual Studio, Dynamics 365, MS Teams, HEAT & Windows 10, 11 and macOS. Applicants will need Grade 12 or equivalent, an accredited technical skill IT Diploma (CompTIA A or equivalent, etc.) & be ITIL v3 Foundation Certified. You must have 3 years relevant work experience including SQL, Sage X3, SharePoint Online & Windows Server 2012/2021.
DUTIES:
Engage with clients in a client centric manner (Client Services) –
- Provide day-to-day desktop/laptop support to staff including taking calls, ensuring calls have been logged and resolving the issues.
- Implementation and daily maintenance of production Desktop/Laptop and 1st line enterprise application support environments.
- Ensure that job specific documentation is always maintained and kept up to date.
- Maintain user accounts, e-mail address lists, and Print Servers
- Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of Entire Desktop systems.
- Maintain Bitdefender Anti-Virus on all client computers on the network.
- Provide MS Office software and Office 365 mail client support (MS Outlook)
- Keep the Service Desk inventory updated.
Internal Process –
- Problem solving and troubleshooting: Hardware, Software, Network Connectivity including wireless.
- Backup and data recovery of OneDrive.
- Setup and configure desktops/laptops.
- Hardware installation, support, and maintenance
- Software installation, 1st Line support: MS Office platform (/2010,2011), Office for MAC platform, Visual Studio, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Teams soft phones, Enterprise applications (HEAT), Office 365, Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS.
- Support and maintenance of projectors BYOD.
- Support of Microsoft Team.
- Link desktops/laptops to network printers.
- Support and maintenance of desktops/laptops and printers.
- Maintain user accounts and Distribution groups in Active Directory.
- Vet and update incidents/changes/ service requests in HEAT and provide feedback to the Operating System Service Team Leader.
- Present Active Heat and Service Availability reports to IT changes.
- Attend to incidents/changes/service requests logged on the IT Service Desk.

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Grade 12 or the equivalent.
- Recognised technical skill IT Diploma (CompTIA A or equivalent, etc.)
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certification.
Experience/Skills –
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of the following Enterprise Applications: SQL, Sage X3, SharePoint Online.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2021.
- 3G installation and support.
- Telephony (IPT) installation and support.
- Mobile support (, iPhone, iPad).
- Prepared to work irregular hours/be on standby – including afterhours weekends and holidays.
