Our Global Client with a local footprint has an opportunity for and Senior DevOps Engineer to come on board and join their Development Team in Cape Town where you will play a key part focusing on developing and maintaining their suite of products within the Digital Marketing space of products and solutions. Your hands-on technical experience coupled with the ability to identify better solutions for the business whilst implementing and managing DevOps systems is what we need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deploying, automating, monitoring and managing production systems to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of production systems.
Contribute towards architecture and process improvements.
Contribute towards product enhancements.
Liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders within an AGILE environment
Documentation of practices and processes using tools like Confluence or Markdown
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Core DevOps Skills: (Automation, Configuration Management – Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Docker). Scripting Skills. Integration Tools.
- Building and maintaining CI/CD Pipelines. Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud and Infrastructure: Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Provisioning and scaling cloud-native applications and services. Hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure integration.
- Monitoring, Logging and Alerting: Monitoring tools including (Zabbix, Grafana,, Prometheus). Centralized logging solutions (ELK Stack, Splunk, Fluentd, Graylog)
- Security and Compliance: Management tools including (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, SOPS) and compliance frameworks.
- Networking and Messaging: Network protocols including (SMTP, POP3, IMAP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS)Firewall management and VPN configuration.
- Operating Systems: (5+ yeas with Linux, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
- Databases: (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Familiarity with version control best practices using Git
