We are currently seeking a GIS Technician on a contract basis to assist our client in the GIS & Survey section of the Property Holding Branch. This role supports a critical data cleaning project linked to the Insurance Immovable Asset Register, ensuring that immovable assets are accurately recorded and insured within their systems. Key Responsibilities
- Search and verify immovable assets using spatial webmap application and related GIS datasets (e.g., Cadastre, Basic Services, Immovable Property Asset Register).
- Capture and validate location identifiers such as Land Parcel Keys, IPARA Usage Area Keys, IPARA Building Keys, and other relevant IDs.
- Facilitate asset verification processes in collaboration with asset owners and other stakeholders.
- Collate responses and data for use in meetings and project documentation.
- Provide support with logistics and coordination of meetings relating to the data cleaning project.
This initiative directly supports the core functions of the Property Transactions department by:- Ensuring that all immovable assets are appropriately insured.- Updating records so that sold properties are removed from the insurance register.- Enabling quick identification of insurance coverage for assets in case of claims.
RequirementsQualification:- National Diploma in Geo-Information/Informatics or Geomatics Science
Experience:- 1 to 2 years of relevant GIS-related experience
Skills & Competencies:- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel- Experienced with web-based mapping tools and desktop GIS software- Skilled in spatial data capturing, interpretation, and management
