My client based in Bellville (Northern Suburbs) is currently looking for an IT Engineer to join them on a permanent basis

IT / Finance

Responsibilities

  • 2nd line support to the Product Specialist team
  • Assist with installations (remote / onsite)
  • Partake (actively) in IT projects and play a role in bringing them to life
  • Day-to-day IT support for internal users and by extension to the support team
  • Willing to work standby shifts for emergencies
  • Capable of working on their own (unsupervised) or as part of a team (collaborative)
  • Support bespoke in-house applications
  • Support internal infrastructure (Windows Server, hosted PBX, Printers, end user support)
  • Managing and maintaining backups
  • Maintain / Support SQL Server

Experience

  • SQL or relevant certification (beneficial)
  • MCSA, MCSE certification (preferred)
  • A+, N+ certification (preferred)
  • FORTIGATE certified (beneficial)
  • Azure related qualifications a huge plus
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Experienced in configuring and managing network devices such as switches, firewalls (working network knowledge required) (FortiGate a plus)
  • Expertise in Microsoft operating systems
  • Ability to implement and manage virtualized environments / workloads using VMware and Hyper-V technologies
  • Proven experience working with cloud services (Azure)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including threat detection and prevention (both via Anti-Virus applications and Azure managed Defender)
  • Experience setting up VPN’s with a solid understanding of SSL tunnelling between Azure and on-prem
  • Expertise in monitoring systems, performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Strong proficiency in reading and understanding log data, event viewer and the ability to interpret this data
  • Problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve computing issues (infrastructure, cloud hosted and end-user support)
  • Proficiency in supporting, managing of hosted PBX solution (Yeastar)
  • Experience in SQL management, configuration
  • Ability to R&D new technologies and accurately relay to internal team
  • Proficient in managing helpdesk calls
