Introduction:
PeopleSolved is currently recruiting for an intermediate Business Analyst with retail and financial services industry experience. This 6-12 month contract opportunity is on-site, in Durban.
Our client is one of SA’s leading retailers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, delivering data-driven insights to support decision-making, optimize operations, and drive profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement in retail and financial operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and performance reports.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to support strategic planning.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for IT and development teams.
- Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including UAT and training.
- Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights to improve sales, margins, and customer experience.
- Work closely with finance teams on budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Create dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in retail and/or financial services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of retail metrics (e.g., sales per square foot, inventory turnover) and financial principles (e.g., P&L, ROI).
Package & Remuneration:
R440 – R460 per hour
