We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable COBOL Application Support Analyst to join the Everyday Banking Core Technology Support team within the Core Banking Division. This role focuses on providing production application support for Cheques and Pricing systems, ensuring stability, performance, and ongoing enhancement of legacy mainframe solutions.
About the Area & Team:
You will be part of a dynamic support team responsible for the smooth operation of critical core banking systems. The team ensures high availability, continuous improvement, and adherence to business and compliance standards for everyday banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily production support for COBOL-based applications used in Cheques and Pricing systems.
- Investigate and resolve system incidents and user issues efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for recurring issues.
- Maintain and enhance legacy mainframe COBOL applications to meet business demands.
- Collaborate with QA teams, business analysts, and developers to support robust solution delivery.
- Participate in 24/7 standby rotation to support mission-critical banking services.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Mainframe COBOL
- Strong knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, IMS, and DB2
- Ability to work under pressure and handle production-critical issues
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Beneficial Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with ISPW or Code Pipeline
- Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar ITSM platforms
- Previous experience in a production support role
