Specialist – ERP Basis

The Specialist – ERP Basis is responsible for the strategic planning, technical governance, and operational support of the ERP Platform, with a primary focus on SAP Basis administration. This role ensures seamless platform delivery across business functions and operations, while promoting continuous improvement and aligning with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Support the ERP platform’s vision, roadmap, and enhancement plans.
  • Identify value drivers, productivity gains, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Align ERP services with evolving business and technology strategies.

Platform Management

  • Govern ERP platform processes in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Oversee daily ERP Basis operations (incidents, changes, escalations).
  • Manage service providers to meet SLA, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Act as the main liaison for Basis-related activities across functions.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, feedback collection, and service improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with change advisory (CAB) and technical advisory (TAG) boards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical upskilling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or BTech in IT (preferred).
  • Relevant SAP/ERP certifications (mandatory).

Technical Skillset:

  • SAP Basis Administration
    • SAP system installation, configuration (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO), client and transport management.
  • Database Management
    • HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, or DB2; backup/recovery and performance tuning.
  • Operating Systems
    • Proficient in Unix/Linux and Windows; automation via shell scripting.
  • System Monitoring & Performance
    • Tools: SAP Solution Manager, CCMS, EarlyWatch; performance troubleshooting.
  • Upgrades & Patch Management
    • SUM, SPAM/SAINT, enhancement packs, Maintenance Planner.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery
    • Clustering, load balancing, failover mechanisms, DR testing.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Environments
    • SAP deployments on Azure, AWS, or GCP; familiarity with SAP BTP.
