Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute projects to meet delivery, cost, and quality targets
  • Lead contractor and subcontractor teams to meet plant requirements
  • Monitor project costs and scope
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in CAPEX application processes
  • Ensure SHER and food safety compliance across all projects
  • Manage Plant and general plant projects
  • Provide dairy processing expertise across the group
  • Support the Plant Manager in improving production efficiency and reducing costs
  • Conduct technical audits on production lines with reporting and recommendations
  • Participate in weekly performance meetings and action planning
  • Improve production line reliability and availability
  • Train plant staff on operational best practices
  • Conduct feasibility studies and resource optimisation
  • Support knowledge transfer and staff development through training
  • Provide technical input for CAPEX planning (3-year horizon)
  • Align technical project plans with company strategy and resource availability
  • Ensure adherence to best practice standards
  • Liaise with engineering design firms, suppliers, and technology providers
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and other statutory requirements
  • Comply with the integrated Risk Management system in equipment design and operations

Required Skills:

  • B.Tech/Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (mechanical focus preferred)
  • PMP Certification (advantageous)
  • 8-10 years of team and project management in FMCG environment
  • Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills
  • Excellent leadership and project management capabilities
  • Advanced computer skills: MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, ERP systems
  • Strong communication, management, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Willingness to work overtime as per plant requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of dairy plant operations and equipment
  • Proficient with PLCs, SCADA, and various control systems
  • Skilled in project management software and MS Projects
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Experience supporting commercial strategies and product development
  • Ability to design and implement operational solutions
  • Proven ability to resolve engineering issues effectively and efficiently
  • Track record of delivering capital projects within time and budget
  • Skilled in supplier negotiations and tender processes
  • Experienced in setting project targets and managing budgets
  • Proven success in managing complex engineering projects
