This is an exciting remote-based opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned and self-sufficient User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) designer to lead the design of lightweight mobile applications that would often operate as a subset of a more complicated application. We require someone with a demonstrable history of designing small-screen applications with highly commended mobile-specific user experience.

You’ll work closely with Business Analysts, Testers and Developers, and will sometimes interact with users/clients to gather their UI/UX specific requirements and/or feedback. The focus is on aesthetics, clarity, mobile usability, and user experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to operate independently from day one.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of experience as a UX/UI Design specializing in Mobile design and workflows.
  • Proven track record working on mobile app designs.
  • Significant experience of operating in Agile delivery teams.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, UX designers, and testers.
  • Familiarity with mobile platform differences and limitations related to UI/UX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and lead the requirements gathering process for the UI and UX of mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with the client to understand business needs and translate them into user-centric mobile app workflows.
  • Advise and be clear on what can operate on a mobile device and how to integrate into its “standard” functionality, like screen notifications and privacy/location settings
  • Break down complex user journeys into clear, streamlined experiences suited to mobile constraints.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with UX/UI best practices and technical feasibility within mobile environments.
  • Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and address technical constraints.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions and flag issues related to usability, edge cases, or platform-specific limitations.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on mobile UX behavior, patterns, and cross-platform interactions (iOS, Android, web).
  • Apply your skills to more than one application that operates using the Blueport Platform.
