Business Application Specialist
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Business Application Specialist to support the stability and performance of critical business and POS applications. The successful candidate will ensure seamless operations across various environments (Windows, Linux, Cloud, On-Prem) and play a key role in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor, log, investigate, and resolve application issues-on Windows, Linux, cloud, or on-prem environments.
- Support transactional business applications in a 24×7 or shift-based environment; conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and deployments.
- Liaise with users and clients during incident resolution; prepare clear written and verbal reports on investigations and outcomes.
- Track root causes of recurring issues and document patches or improvements; help refine processes and escalation pathways.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Diploma or Degree in IT or related field).
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience with business or POS application support in production environments.
Technical Skills
- Competent in SQL querying, log analysis, incident/change/problem management discipline.
- MS Office familiarity (Excel, PowerPoint), plus some scripting knowledge (batch/Linux). Expertise with NCR POS or AS@R software is often advantageous.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows administration, & cloud platforms like AWS or Oracle.
