About the Opportunity

Our Client in the Motor Industry is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Advanced) for a flexible contract role based at their IT Hub in South Africa. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining vital digital platforms that power international dealer networks and business-critical systems.

RequirementsWhat You’ll Do

  • Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to clarify requirements and design innovative solutions.

  • Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications with extensive integration points.

  • Manage production deployments, release management, and incident resolution.

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements.

  • Prepare technical documentation aligned with ISO standards.

  • Support system audits, quality assurance, and change management processes.

  • Deliver knowledge transfer and user training.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in both Development (Java/JEE, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot) and DevOps operations.

  • Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and practices: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch) and unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITSM tools like Remedy.

  • Advantageous skills: Cloud architecture (AWS/OpenShift), Apache Kafka, Ansible, SAP Hybris, Grafana, Kibana.

  • Degree in IT or equivalent experience, plus relevant backend development certifications.
