Inherent Job Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4 essential
  • 3 Year degree in Computer Science / Information System would be advantageous
  • Up to 2 years of experience in an IT support / technician role
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and desktop software installation, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance
  • Networking knowledge of TCP/IP and Syspro would be advantageous

Job Description

  • Diagnostics on relevant machines.
  • Report to ICT Manager on problems that occurred
  • Discuss solutions and approach to problems
  • Maintain local printers.
  • Documentation of file backup verification
  • Backup logbook updated daily
  • Backup tapes sent off-site (Metro File) daily
  • Ensure all key users are backing up & can be restored
  • Remote or telephonic assistance to all Bedding sites
  • Support remote sites for PC & printing problems
  • Backup of key personal from remote sites
  • Latest antivirus patches for all remote users
  • Create new users in Active Directory
  • Maintain current user profiles
  • Assist users with PC & printing problems
  • Maintain user password policies
  • Create & maintain Software Library
  • Ensure all software on PC’s are licensed
  • Load all new pc’s with Microsoft Office & Syspro
  • Maintain network & LAN settings on PC’s
  • Remove all games & unlicensed software from pc’s
  • Support and maintain Factory production scanning
