Scrum Master - IT-Online

My client based in Gauteng is currently looking for a Scrum Master to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

Coach the team on Agile philosophy, mindset, and Scrum practices
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
Protect the team from uncontrolled scope changes and conflicting priorities
Support the Product Owner in backlog prioritisation and team collaboration
Help the team identify, track, and remove impediments to delivery
Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability
Guide the team in estimation practices and maintaining delivery predictability
Improve team performance by addressing conflicts and encouraging growth
Facilitate clear communication between the Agile team and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (preferred)
Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or similar) highly desirable

Competencies

Strong knowledge of the Scrum framework (principles, roles, events, artefacts)
Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams in applying Agile practices
Hands-on use of Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence)
Understanding software development and DevOps best practices
Experience in insurance or financial services industry (advantageous)
Skilled in facilitation, conflict resolution, and building team cohesion
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to identify and remove impediments and navigate complex team challenges

Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities
Adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement
