My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Test Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of Business Vault tables, HANA tables, data cubes, and SSRS reports
- Write and execute SQL scripts for data validation and reconciliation
- Validate data structures and business logic
- Conduct source-to-target data comparisons during migrations
- Verify outputs using BI tools such as SAP Analysis for Office and Excel
- Track and manage tests in Jira; document processes in Confluence
- Collaborate across functions to resolve testing issues
Qualifications
- Relevant IT qualification with a focus on technical testing in both legacy and modern systems
- Strong academic or technical grounding in testing methodologies
Competencies
- 5-7 years IT experience, with solid background in test analysis, design, and execution
- Experience in life assurance or financial services (advantageous)
- Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, subqueries, CASE WHEN)
- Knowledge of HiveQL or Impala for large datasets
- Proficiency with SAP Analysis for Office and Excel
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong understanding of data migration testing
- Familiarity with Data Vault concepts
- Ability to interpret technical specs and mappings
- Knowledge of design principles and design patterns
- Agile/Scrum exposure
- Self-starter, able to work independently in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of financial products (advantageous)
