Postion Summary:
iThemba LABS seeks to appoint a Manager- Systems Support to provide technological leadership (aligned with organizational objectives) that results in sustaining resilient systems; ensures the uninterrupted operation of technology infrastructure; drives the augmentation of system productivity and ensures the safeguarding of data security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications, ensuring smooth functionality
- Direct the management of IT infrastructure to meet service levels and optimize system performance
- Define infrastructure strategies and coordinate the management of organizational-level infrastructure to align with business objectives
- Architect and execute disaster recovery infrastructure deployment while safeguarding business continuity in accordance with organizational risk management protocols
- Direct the effective delivery of the service desk function, ensuring first-line IT support for all service-related incidents and requests
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the service desk team to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery
- Ensure IT services are aligned with and consistently meet agreed-upon performance standards and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Guide, mentor and develop staff in line with HR policies and procedures
- Streamline job functions, processes, and methods for efficiency within the team
- Continuously check, review and authorise the work of staff
- Engage staff on a regular basis and encourage good working relationships with all stakeholders
- Plan, monitor and evaluate staff performance and implement corrective and/or developmental actions where required
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7
Minimum Experience:
- 7-7 years
- NQF 7 Degree / Advanced Diploma in Information systems or another related field
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
- 3 Year’s managerial experience with exposure to multiple technical areas
