Purpose of the role:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing both cloud and on-premises network infrastructures. This role ensures network performance, security, and compliance while supporting the organization’s data centre and cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based and on-premises network architectures.
  • Manage data centre infrastructure and network operations.
  • Configure and manage virtual private networks (VPNs) to ensure secure connectivity.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall rules and access controls.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network configurations for efficiency and cost.
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, and IT teams to support network requirements.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Implement network automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with network governance policies, standards, and best practices.

RequirementsMinimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 6 qualification or a Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT) or related field, including Information Systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), or AWS are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Network Engineer, Data Centre Engineer, or in a related networking role.
  • Proven experience with network design, deployment, security, and cloud integration.
