The Role: Senior Cloud Architect (Azure)
The Senior Cloud Architect will be responsible for defining, governing, and guiding Azure-based cloud architectures across the organisation. This senior contract role focuses on architectural leadership, hands-on technical design, and close collaboration with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5+ years in Azure cloud architecture roles
- Design and define scalable, secure, and resilient Azure cloud architectures
- Provide architectural leadership across cloud migration, optimisation, and modernisation initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and data teams to ensure best-practice cloud solutions
- Translate business and operational requirements into robust Azure architecture designs
- Govern and review cloud implementations to ensure alignment with architectural standards and frameworks
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
About You
- 10+ years of IT experience with strong depth in enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and governing Azure cloud architectures
- Strong expertise in Azure services, security, networking, identity, and governance
- Proven experience in cloud migration and modernisation programmes
- Ability to operate confidently at senior stakeholder and executive level
- Strong documentation, communication, and architectural governance skills
